Patient Resources

Our interdisciplinary team of experts has worked hard to provide you with the resources you need to lose weight and maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle. From meal planning tips to recipes, classes, and support groups to connect with others, you have the tools you need to succeed.

Classes

Plan to attend at least one pre-op education class as you prepare for having surgery with us. We offer class twice a month at the ART building.

Nutrition

Our nutritional team is dedicated to supporting you every step of the way on your weight loss journey. Check out our virtual grocery store tour, post-op educational video, recipe corner, nutrition education handouts, and how to connect when you need more individualized counseling.

Recipes

Over the years, our patients and our team have developed some quick and easy recipes for the pureed stage and beyond.

Support Group

Our support group is our family! Support group is optional, but highly encouraged. It is a great place to find connection, community, and support from other people going through a similar experience. Support group can help you learn what to expect after surgery, learn about healthy eating patterns and cope with lifelong behavior change.

Testimonials

We believe that patient stories are the best way to really learn about how your life can improve after surgical weight loss. Check out some of our patient stories.

Blog

We are now writing much of our content for the MUSCHealth Blog - check us out there for articles about healthy eating, product reviews, recipes, patient stories, and more!

We send a monthly e-blast the week before our monthly support group full of info and resources! If you would like to subscribe to our monthly newsletter, send a message to peterama@musc.edu.
