MUSC Health offers continuing education (CE) classes for nurses in all disciplines, patient care technicians, and advanced practice RNs. In addition we offer CE classes for medical interpreters. Bringing together the clinical and research resources of a nationally ranked medical university, our courses help providers learn as they practice, grow as professionals, and provide patients with the most innovative and compassionate care possible.
Nursing/APP Provider Courses
We are not currently offering any CE courses at this time.
Additional continuing education opportunities are provided through Lowcountry AHEC.
Medical Interpreter Courses
As part of our ongoing mission to provide excellence in health care, MUSC Health recognized there was a lack of opportunities available for formal training for health care interpreters and continued learning for interpreters and translators within the state. So we established a continuing education program for medical interpreters to address this need. We are currently the only organization in South Carolina providing ongoing continuing education for medical interpreters.
These programs are designed to accommodate the needs of all levels of multilingual learners. Our Bridging the Gap program is particularly well suited to training current bilingual health care staff to become highly effective medical interpreters. These dual-role employees become a greater asset to their workplaces and find interpreter training to be a stepping stone in their career development.
Our team includes experienced interpreters and medical professionals, many of whom have been involved with training future generations of health care professionals over the past decade.
Approved Sponsor for Continuing Education
MUSC Health has been approved by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) and the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CCHI) as an administrator for Continuing Education Units (CEUs). CEUs will be offered for all training provided, sponsored, or co-sponsored by MUSC Health. CEUs for workshops not provided or co-sponsored by MUSC Health can be processed for a nominal fee.
