HIV in pregnancy

Our HIV in Pregnancy support team includes Dr. Gweneth Lazenby, Dr. Anna Powell, Angel Payton-Harmon of the Outpatient Pediatric AIDS Clinic, and our peer-educator Evette Green. They help patients with many commonly referred conditions, including:

  • Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) in pregnancy
  • Hepatitis B in pregnancy
  • Hepatitis C in pregnancy
  • Syphilis
  • Vulvar dermatosis (lichen simplex chronicus, lichen sclerosus, and lichen planus)
  • Recurrent bacterial vaginosis
  • Recurrent vulvovaginal yeast infections
  • Sexually transmitted infections 

They also provide related obstetric and gynecologic services:

  • Preconception counseling and safe conception counseling for women and their HIV sero-same or sero-different partners
  • STI testing and expedited partner therapy
  • Pre-exposure prophylaxis administration to HIV-negative partners
  • Linkage to the Outpatient Perinatal AIDS Clinic and the Divisions of Infectious Diseases
  • Colposcopies
  • Contraception
  • Ultrasounds
  • Inpatient and outpatient surgery
