MUSC Health Women's Care

Every woman matters.

Because we believe the health and well-being of a community lies in its ability to work together for the good of all. When that happens, everyone has a vital role – and every woman matters.

Our medical services

Recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a high-performing gynecology hospital.

Gynecology

Our physicians, many of whom are listed in America's Top Doctors or Best Doctors in the Southeast Region, are as diverse as the women they serve. Using state-of-the-art obstetric techniques and imaging equipment, our physicians provide expert gynecological services for women of all ages, from pediatrics and adolescents to menopausal women and seniors.

Pregnancy

The MUSC Women's Center provides expert, compassionate service for every stage of pregnancy, from preconception counseling, prenatal care for low and high-risk pregnancies, 3-D and 4-D obstetrical ultrasounds to childbirth options, including VBAC and unmedicated childbirth, and delivery at MUSC Hospital.

Gynecologic Cancer

Our advanced diagnostics, treatments and management are a source of hope and healing to thousands of women with cervical, endometrial, ovarian, uterine and vulvar cancer. Through the MUSC Hollings Cancer Center, our patients have access to South Carolina's first female gynecologic oncologist, nationally renowned radiation oncologists and gynecologic pathologists, and the most advanced gynecologic cancer research and clinical trials.

Family Planning

We offer comprehensive family planning services including contraceptive consultations for medically or socially complicated patients, IUD insertion and removal, Implanon insertion and removal, tubal ligation including the Essure procedure, medical management of miscarriage, and surgical or medical pregnancy termination in the first and second trimester for fetal anomalies, fetal demise, or maternal indications.

Fertility

Our in-depth diagnostics help pinpoint the causes of infertility, allowing our knowledgeable, compassionate physicians to determine the best course of action for each patient and circumstance. Fertility services include surgery, ovulation induction, intrauterine insemination and in-vitro fertilization.

Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery

Our renowned physicians protect and preserve the health and reproductive needs of all women through advanced hysteroscopy and laparoscopy including total laparoscopic hysterectomy, gynecologic surgery and treatment for urinary incontinency.

Advanced Fetal Care Center

Finding out about a congenital anomaly can be worrying enough without trying to seek out the best specialists and scheduling time separately with each one. Now families won't have to. Our center is designed to take care of that, allowing them to focus on working with a single, integrated medical care team to take the best possible steps forward for their new child.

CenteringPregnancy® Groups

It's the new way to experience pregnancy! Centering groups offer several two-hour group sessions with one of our medical providers and 8-10 women due in the same month. Group members privately receive all the typical pregnancy health evaluations like blood work and ultrasounds, while enjoying the emotional support of the other women.

Our medical team

We meet the health needs of each woman at that specific moment – whether she's a 13-year-old with questions about her changing body, a 30-year-old professional having her first baby, or a 62-year-old grandmother with recurrent cancer in need of breakthrough research – and every woman in between.
