Sarah Hales, MSW, Ph.D.

Sarah HalesSarah is a licensed Social Worker and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina. She received her bachelor's degree from Sewanee: The University of the South before completing her master's in social work and a doctorate degree in public health in the Department of Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior at the University of South Carolina.

Sarah has also received her board certification in Interdisciplinary Obesity and Weight Management. Sarah’s clinical and research interests are primarily in designing and implementing behavioral interventions, developing mobile apps for weight loss, and the use of mobile and wearable technology to improve access to weight management services.
