Dr. Scott Walton graduated magna cum laude from North Carolina State University with a BS degree in zoology. There he was awarded an ROTC scholarship and received the Daughters of the American Revolution gold medal for academic excellence. After attending the Medical University of South Carolina, he entered the U.S. Army and served for seven years as a flight surgeon and anesthesiologist. Following residency at MUSC, he finished his final tour with the U.S. Army and then entered private practice in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Dr. Walton returned to MUSC in 1998 and has since that time devoted his energy and attention to pediatric and pediatric cardiac anesthesia.
Dr. Walton has been named one of America’s Best Doctors for the past eight years. He is currently the chief of pediatric anesthesiology at MUSC.
