Biography

Dr. Kerrie Murphy received her Ph.D. in clinical-community psychology from the University of South Carolina. She completed her internship and postdoctoral training at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (Memphis). She is currently a clinical assistant professor of psychiatry in the child & adolescent division at MUSC and provides outpatient therapy to children, adolescents, and families in the child and adolescent outpatient clinic in the Institute of Psychiatry (2 North). Dr. Murphy’s clinical interests include evidence-based treatments for children and adolescents with a variety of presenting concerns, including disruptive behavior problems (ADHD, ODD), anxiety, and depression. Dr. Murphy has particular expertise and interest in treating young children with disruptive behavior disorders, as she is a certified therapist and trainer in parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT), an evidence-based treatment for young children with disruptive behavior problems.
