Biography

Meredith Lyons-Crews completed her undergraduate degree at Mary Baldwin College and Master of Social Work degree at the University of South Carolina. Her past experience has been in the areas of child abuse and neglect, foster care and adoption, individuals with developmental disabilities, veterans' services, adult psychiatric services and youth psychiatric services.

Currently, Ms. Lyons-Crews provides therapy as an outpatient psychotherapist with past experience in inpatient and partial hospitalization settings. Her experience has been in working with individuals of all ages, but she specializes in working with youth and their families. She has expertise in working with children with behavioral issues who struggle with anger management, social skills and self awareness. She provides individual insight-oriented psychotherapy to adults with symptoms of anxiety and depression and provides family therapy with a focus on communication strategies and conflict resolution. Her primary modality for treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy and she is certified in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy. Also, she provides group psychotherapy for youth with a focus on skill building in the areas of anger issues and social skill building.
