Biography

Dr. Gwynette is Board-Certified in both Adult Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Medicine in 2000, and subsequently trained at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California for his residency in Adult Psychiatry and fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Gwynette is the Founder and Director of Project Rex, a treatment program for patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families. In addition, Dr. Gwynette created the Medical University of South Carolina Autism Spectrum foundation, which strives to provide the highest level of care possible for affected children and their loved ones. Dr. Gwynette also currently serves as the Director of the Resident Training Clinic. He is active in the regional branch of the American Psychiatric Association and has served as a mentor for the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. In addition to Autism Spectrum Disorder, Dr. Gwynette's career interests include ADHD and the application of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
