Christine Anne Carter-Kent
Dr. Christine Carter-Kent received a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in chemistry from Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts in 1996. In 2002, she was awarded a medical degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She went on to complete both internship and residency in general pediatrics at the Cleveland Clinic. She then completed three years of fellowship training in pediatric gastroenterology at the Cleveland Clinic in July 2008. After fellowship, she joined the staff in the Department of Pediatric Gastroenterology at Cleveland Clinic and was appointed clinical assistant professor of pediatrics. She joined the staff in the Department of Pediatric Gastroenterology at the Medical University of South Carolina in August 2011.
Dr. Carter-Kent is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology. She is a member of the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition and has served as a member of the nutrition committee. She is also a member of the Network of Minority Research Investigators -- National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Disease. Her clinical interests include pediatric inflammatory bowel disease, pediatric non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and pediatric obesity.
