Dr. Juan Camacho is an assistant professor of vascular and interventional radiology at MUSC. After finishing his medical school and diagnostic radiology residency in his native Colombia (South America), he completed a comprehensive and extensive training program in abdominal imaging (2013), body MRI (2014), vascular and interventional radiology (2015), and interventional oncology (2016) at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia.
Dr. Camacho takes cares of adult patients with liver, kidney, lung, and bone cancer and also takes care of patients who require further care before and after a liver or kidney transplant. He has particular interests in quantifying response to locoregional therapies in cancer and prediction of overall outcomes, as well as in development of new cancer therapies.
He has been awarded the Roentgen Award (2013, Radiological Society of North America), the Resident/Fellow Annual Scientific Meeting Research Award (2014, Society of Interventional Radiology) and the 2016 Honored Educator Award (Radiological Society of North America).
