Marty Travis, MS, ATC, SCAT

Marty comes to MUSC Sports Medicine after working the past five years in Orangeburg as a clinical outreach athletic trainer.  He provided primary athletic training services to Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School and Orangeburg Preparatory School as well as providing on-call services to schools in Orangeburg and surrounding counties.  Also he supervised graduate assistant athletic trainers from the University of South Carolina working in the area. During this time he served as athletic trainer at many special events such as the USMC Mud Run, wrestling tournaments, SCISA championship tournaments and SCISA all-star games.

Marty is a 1983 graduate of the College of Charleston and he received an MS degree from the Graduate Athletic Training Program at Indiana State University in 1985. He also completed the EMT-B certificate program at Trident Technical College.  He has served as Head Athletic Trainer and instructor at Western State College of Colorado, Emory & Henry College, Pfeiffer College and the College of Charleston.
