MUSC Health recognized there was a lack of opportunities available for formal training for healthcare interpreters and continuing education for interpreters and translators within the state. So we established the Interpreter Training Center (ITC) for medical and community interpreters as a forum to disseminate information on topics of interest to practicing interpreters. ITC fosters skill-building and continuing education through workshops that are both engaging and interactive. ITC is a venue where medical and community interpreters can gain knowledge and learn from one another, building a network of professionals ready for any situation.
ITC programs are designed to accommodate the needs of all levels of multilingual learners. We offer educational options ranging from fundamentals of interpreting to specialize topics, such as interpreting for Victim Services or Palliative Care.
