MUSC Health Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) provides comprehensive care for all diseases and disorders involving the ear and adjacent skull base in children and adults. We evaluate and treat approximately 5,000 patients annually and we would be pleased to assist you or your loved ones. Please call us at 843-792-3531 to schedule an appointment with our team.

Fellowship Trained

Our ENT physicians have received fellowship training, which is one to two years of additional training in a specific area beyond basic ENT residency. Because their practice is limited to their specialty, they have become highly skilled and offer unparalleled experience.

Multidisciplinary Approach

At MUSC Health, we take an interdisciplinary approach to evaluating each case – this means a group of doctors from several disciplines will weigh in to determine the best treatment plan. Your dedicated otologist (ear doctor) may collaborate with an audiologist (hearing loss and balance disorder specialist), speech-language pathologist, physical therapist (movement specialist), and pharmacist to listen to your concerns, assess symptoms and identify a diagnosis. Depending on the particular disease or disorder identified, other specialties may become involved, including neurotology, neurosurgery, interventional radiology, oncologists, and infectious disease specialists.

Teaching

The word “doctor” originates from the Latin word meaning “to teach” and we take this definition seriously. Just as we teach our residents and fellows how to provide excellent patient care, we teach patients about their diagnosis and treatment. Your team of MUSC Health specialists will discuss treatment options with you to determine the action plan for next steps.

Technology and Research

Collaboration between disciplines and specialized programs with advanced technology are designed to improve patient outcomes. MUSC Health is one of the few U.S. centers with a multidisciplinary team in one location, and MUSC Health ENT is the largest division of its kind in the Southeast U.S. We have one of the largest and best-funded ear and hearing research centers in the entire country, with focus areas ranging from basic science to clinical trials, enabling the most advanced treatments available.
