As we approach the completion of the latest phase of the Spring/Fishburne Drainage Improvement Project, the intersection of Cannon Street and President Street will be closed starting Monday, April 24, 2017. This specific closure is expected to last approximately one month and the intersection will not reopen until the work is complete and it is safe to use again. The work in this area is multi‐staged and will require further closures along President Street as the work progresses through the intersection of Cannon and President. During this time, you will be required to utilize the alternate entrances, exits and parking available that are outside the marked construction zone to access your home or businesses. The intersection will reopen as the construction and road closures shift to areas of President Street to the north and south of the intersection.
The city of Charleston is now in Phase 2 of the Spring/Fishburne Drainage Improvement Project, which is designed to reduce flooding in the Spring/Fishburne drainage basin area. Additional information is available on the city's Septima Clark Project Website.
