Administrative Fellowship Program

The MUSC Health Administrative Fellowship program is a self-directed program under the supervision of health system leaders and is designed for highly qualified individuals who demonstrate the potential to make significant contributions to the health care administration profession and the organization.

Fellows will have the opportunity to attend and participate in meetings, shadowing, and project work. Fellows are encouraged to participate in operational projects that align with their particular interests. The Fellow receives firsthand experience in multiple areas including but not limited to: operations, finance, quality, and strategic planning.

The Fellow has the opportunity to work with senior-level executives, leaders, and administrators who bring a variety of experience and knowledge in the health care industry and to work with highly experienced physicians. The Medical University of South Carolina is an academic medical center located in Charleston, South Carolina.

MUSC Health is at the forefront of the latest advances in medicine, with world-class physicians, groundbreaking research, and technology that is often among the first of its kind. MUSC Health believes in a multidisciplinary, team-based approach to care that involves close collaboration of specialists.

Applicants must have or will have graduated from an accredited master's level program by the start of the fellowship. This individual must be a self-starter and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The fellowship program begins in the summer of each year and continues for twelve months, depending on individual circumstance. Click here to learn more about the application process and timeline.

MUSC Health provides a salary competitive with other administrative fellowships, relocation reimbursement, and full benefits, including: medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as several retirement options. Reimbursement for travel expenses to regional or national healthcare-related conferences also may be provided.

The MUSC Health Administrative Fellowship program is a member of the National Council on Administrative Fellowships (NCAF). In an effort to simplify the application process for fellowship applicants, we utilize the National Administrative Fellowship Centralized Application Service (NAFCAS) with applications opening the second Thursday of each June. Unfortunately, MUSC Health cannot sponsor international visas for fellows. Candidates requiring an international visa may still apply to the program. If selected, the required visa will need to be obtained independently.
