Description This Grand Rounds lecture is given by Dr. Frank A. Cuoco, Jr., MD, MBA, Assistant Professor, Division of Cardiology, MUSC. The topic is "Novell Therapies for Stroke Prevention in Atrial Fibrillation."
Objectives

1. Estimate the annualized risk of stroke in patients with AF.
2. Review the established pharmacologic modalities for stroke prevention in AF.
3. Describe the role of novel interventional therapies for stroke prevention in AF.
4. Discuss the risk for stroke following catheter for atrial fibrillation.
